Urban Shade Field

Urban Shade Field is a proposal for an outdoor shared space. While the main purpose of the space must be connected to the nearby restaurants in accordance to the requirements described in the competition brief, the proposed open air shading structure will contribute to the new emerging identity of Detroit’s “Avenue of Fashion” by defining a flexible outdoor space offering multiple programmatic possibilities.

The structure is composed of 9 modules, each one measuring 11x11x11 feet, and will be placed in the center of an abandoned and empty lot measuring 40x80 feet.
